TEACHERS SET TO SHAVE HEADS E-mail

razor.jpgWINNIPEG - Seventeen Maples Collegiate teachers are shaving their head this afternoon to raise money for a student at the school who has cancer.

Chris Cvetkovic from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will make an appearance at the head-shaving event. The fundraising campaign, called "Dropping Dreads for Damon," will take place today in the school’s gym at 2:30 p.m.

The Maples Collegiate hockey team will play a cancer awareness hockey game against Kildonan East Collegiate at 4 p.m. today at the Maples arena. The team will be wearing pink to support breast cancer.

Profits from pink T-shirts sold during the game and admission money will be donated to Cancer Care Manitoba. Donations can be made at Maples Collegiate. For more information call the school at 632-6641.

Brown as its new Director of Development.

RARE WHISKEY GOING FOR CHARITY E-mail

But this year on January 25th, The Famous Grouse, one of the world's most popular blended whiskies, is adding to the joyous occasion by unveiling a rare, 37-year-old expression to signify every year in the famous poet's life.

All of the 250 bottles, valued at $800 each, will be donated for charity fundraising efforts around the world. With 15 per cent of these bottles destined for the Canadian market, local charities in this country stand to benefit in the neighbourhood of $30,000.
