KETTLE CAMPAIGN EXCEEDS GOAL IN GTA E-mail

TORONTO - The Salvation Army 2008 Christmas Kettle Campaign met, and then exceeded its Greater Toronto Area (GTA) goal by some $280,000 – a total of $2,780,000.

 “It was an extraordinary year,” said Captain John Murray, Spokesperson for The Salvation Army. “As late as December 21st, kettles were down by $600 thousand. No doubt about it; we were worried we might not be able to provide the level of direct services the GTA needs right now.”
