YMCA PROGRAM SAVED E-mail

CAMBRIDGE - A $7,600 donation from President's Choice Children's Charity has saved a teen program at the Chaplin Family YMCA. The money will pay for almost a year of the Just Hangin' Out program for teens with physical and cognitive problems.

The KW Record reports that the money was presented on January 11 at the Zehrs store on Dunbar Road. It costs about $10,000 a to run three sessions over a year. The city chipped in $600 to help with two of three planned sessions, said Deb Brown of the Y. More grant requests are out in the community, she said. Each session hosts 15 teens and runs once a week for nine weeks.
