WHITECOURT, AB - Canadian country musician Lisa Brokop will use her talents next month to help a local man devastated by a house fire.

A fire at the home of George Erickson, in the Shiningbank area five days before Christmas destroyed three generations of family history.

The flames consumed his farmhouse, a house trailer and two vehicles on his property. Erickson’s girlfriend, whose name has not been released, died in the fire. Erickson suffered a broken hip as well as frostbite and burns to his feet, said Bernnie Gervais, Erickson’s cousin and neighbour.
